Shadow Mapper Tutorial - Setup

Setup

There are a few things you need to do for Shadow Mapper to work correctly:

You need to have Java installed

You can download this at java.com, follow the installation instructions.

You need Java(TM) Cryptography Extension (JCE) Unlimited Strength Jurisdiction Policy Files 6

You can download this here

Version 1.0, 1.0.1, 1.0.2, 1.0.3, 1.0.4 or 1.0.0.4 of GTAIV.exe

Make sure your GTA IV folder is NOT set to Read Only

You can remove the Read Only attribute by right clicking on your IV folder and then select properties
The following window will pop up

Uncheck the "Read-only" box and click "Apply".

Start

Start Shadow-Mapper.exe
This window will now popup

Click "Add install"
You will be prompted to locate your GTA IV install folder
Navigate to your GTA IV folder and select GTAIV.exe

You will now be prompted to give your install a name.
Select the install and click "Select" to start loading this installation

You can now use Shadow Mapper!
